ABSTRACT

Objectives: The Aim Of This Study Was To Find Out The Effect Of Home And Office Bleaching Agents On Color And Surface Roughness Of Different Thicknesses Of Hybrid Resin Ceramics. Methods: Forty Disc Shaped Samples (1 & 1.5mm Thick) Were Fabricated From Vita Enamic Shade (3M2-HT) And Lava Ultimate Shade (A3-HT) Hybrid Ceramics (20 Sample Each). Samples Of Each Subgroup Were Divided Into Two Classes According To The Used Bleaching Technique; (home And Office) (5 Samples Each). Surface Roughness Of All Samples Was Measured Before And After Treatment With Bleaching Agents Using A Tactile Profilometer. Color Measurements Were Done Using A Spectrophotometer For All The Samples Before And After Treatment With Bleaching Agents. Three-way (ANOVA) Was Used To Analyze The Data, Followed By Bonferroni?s Post-hoc Test. The Significance Level Was Set At P 0.05.

Results: The ?E Values Of The Tested Materials Were Affected By Bleaching Technique And The Ceramic Thickness. The Mean Values Of (?E) For 1 Mm Thick Samples Were Higher Than Those Of 1.5 Mm Thick. The Mean Values Of (?E) For Home Bleaching Technique Samples Were Lower Than Those Treated With Office Bleaching Technique. All Samples Showed An Increase In Surface Roughness (Ra) Values After The Used Bleaching Techniques. Conclusion: Home And Office Bleaching Techniques Recorded Clinically Imperceptible Color Changes. Home Bleaching System Affected Surface Roughness Of Both Tested Materials.
